Scope and Sequence:

Objective and Purpose:
Students will evaluate Easy books based on pictures, theme, and characters using the district’s literacy model, The Daily 5.

- Rhyming words
Input:
Show the cover of each book. Indicate elements of print, the author and illustrator. Review the selection process used in The Daily Five and a “good fit book.”
Lesson:
- For all books, review predictions.
- For each grade level, read the books that rhyme and point out pairs of rhyming words.
- Have students practice pairing rhyming words by completing the worksheet.
